The Aquila Digital Community

Our group is concerned with all aspects of bioorganic chemistry. We are currently pursuing the development of novel strategies for the preparation of various classes of unnatural amino acids using enzymes to provide the needed stereoselectivity in the synthetic process. The strategy we have developed allows for the construction of various amino acid classes from a common synthetic intermediate providing greater flexibility in the preparation of small peptide libraries. We are pursuing the use of these amino acids in many areas.
