The Americans with Disabilities Act: Knowledge, attitude, and compliance in Mississippi public community/junior college administration
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the criterion variables of attitude toward and knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and compliance with the ADA by the executive leadership of the fifteen Mississippi community and junior colleges. Data were collected for this study through a survey provided to seventy-five executive educational administrators at the fifteen public community and junior colleges in the State of Mississippi. The seventy-five individuals surveyed completed seventy-five useable surveys. Results from the analysis of the data indicated significant independent relationships between the predicator variables of attitude and knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act by executive educational administrators at fifteen Mississippi community and junior colleges and compliance with the Act as demonstrated by college facilities ADA compliance, on-line publication ADA compliance and catalog ADA compliance.
