Communication and organizational climate in the administration of NCAA intercollegiate athletic programs in the southeast United States
The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between organizational climate and communication. The participants consisted of 145 athletic administrators from universities in the southeast United States. Questionnaires that consisted of demographic information and questions that represented organizational climate and communication were mailed to the athletic administrators. The demographic finding in this study indicated that over 50% of the respondents were males and the rest were females. In terms of communication climate perception the study showed that athletic administrators perceived the communication climate as supportive. Gender, ethnicity, and years of experience were not a significant influence in the athletic administrators' attitude toward communication climate. Based on the findings, it was determined that there was a strong relationship between organizational climate and communication. The conclusion was that the relationship was statistically significant at a level of p < .001.
