Abstract
This dissertation is composed of five short fiction and three short nonfiction stories. Both sets of stories belong to separate projects that I have worked on for the past several years. The fiction stories explore themes of blue-collar life, betrayal, and infidelity. The nonfiction pieces are a part of a larger work from my time spent teaching English in Seoul, South Korea. Themes prevalent in these stories include solitude, suicide, and addiction.
