Description

In the fall of 2020, the Art & Design department at the University of North Florida approached the library about solutions for managing records for the campus art collection, of more than 600 pieces. We believed that our institutional repository platform was the perfect tool to meet this need. The department needed records with customizable fields, some of which are hidden and available only to administrators, and the ability to have additional departmental records editors added. We later learned that the department would like to add associated full-text scholarship from A&D faculty on works in the collection, making the IR an even more appropriate way to manage and share these records. The project is just in the beginning phases of data entry, but in the months to come records will be further enhanced and the data from the system will become increasingly useful to the campus community.
