Abstract
Fables of the Deconstruction is a collection of very short innovative fiction in the postmodernist vein of Donald Barthelme and Robert Coover. The collection contains sixty short short stories ranging in form from tests and pie charts to prose poems. Using magic realism, irrealism, and meta-fiction as strategies, the material highlights the instability of identity and difficulty of making connections in the modern era.
