Abstract
A new species of Casearia (Samydaceae), C. draganae M.H. Alford, from lowland rainforest of the Pacific basin of Colombia and Ecuador is described and illustrated. The new species is vegetatively similar to Casearia fasciculata (Ruiz&Pav.) Sleumer but differs in petiole length, distribution of pellucid-punctuations in the lamina, flower size, ovary pubescence, and pericarp thickness.
