Abstract
Nylon 6 two-armed and three-armed systems prepared via anionic bulk polymerization had different characteristics than their linear counterparts. While little differences were found in IR and NMR spectra, changes in performance characteristics were discovered. Both two-armed and three-armed species were found to form crosslinked networks at high ratios of initiator to monomer. It was also found that the two-armed and three-armed species have slightly lower melt temperatures, but higher flow temperatures than their linear counterparts.
