Abstract
Studies ranking prolific authors are criticized both for their methodological limitations and rhetorical implications. In an earlier essay we questioned the ethic of prolific publishing and the rationale justifying the ranking of prolific authors. Our present remarks respond to Professor Mark Hickson ‘s critique of our concerns.
