Abstract
The main objective of this study is to determine to what extent LIS (library and information science) professionals read, conduct, and apply relevant research by examining their research activities and attitudes. The members of the three major LIS professional organizations known as PLA (Pakistan Library Association), PLWO-KP (Pakistan Library Welfare Organization- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch), and PUCLA (Peshawar University Campus Librarians Association) were the targeted population for this study. The questionnaire was designed using a Google Survey form to collect data for the pilot and final study. Lack of understanding about research activities, non-availability of research journals, and non-applicability of research output in libraries by LIS professionals are the major findings of the study. Systematic research and evidence-based training, launching research journals, and consulting donor agencies for fundraising are key components that could be utilized to enhance Pakistan's research activities.
