Abstract
This study examines justice faculty perceptions regarding the status of academic justice programs. Justice faculty (n = 289) from baccalaureate-granting institutions across the nation expressed strong support for the quality of their programs and colleagues, while also indicating satisfaction with respect acquired from community professionals. Pessimism, however, emerged regarding respect from the broader faculty and administrators within their institutions. Faculty were satisfied with control of program content and perceived the programs as interdisciplinary. Lower-ranking faculty expressed more support for national accreditation, while commitment to recruit scholars with criminal justice/criminology doctorates was mixed depending on the doctorate held by respondents.
