The Frobenius-Perron Operator as a Product of Two Operators

Abstract
We show that the Frobeniun-Perron operator PS: L1(X) → L1(X) associated with a nonsingular transformation S: X → X on a σ-finite measuring space X is the product of an isometry and a weak contraction.
