Abstract
This exploratory research provided data on the incidence and psychological consequences of blackouts in a college student sample. Significant correlations were found between student's alcohol abuse scores, blackout risk taking, and intrusiveness of stressful thoughts about the blackout incident. Further, men were found to be significantly more likely than women to take risks during, and to experience more stressful intrusive thoughts about the blackout incident.
