Abstract
This article describes the transformation of a biology laboratory course at an urban university from one based on a traditional, cook-book curriculum to one incorporating inquiry-based methodologies. In this article, the instructorcomparesthe two approaches and providesthe new syllabus, assessments, and course evaluation results.
