Abstract
“Isolated Together” was initially performed at the Repertory Dance Concert on November 11th-13th, 2021. Jayme Carroll, Francie Davis, Caulondra Davison, and Natalie Sunseri contributed their unique gifts and lived experiences to facilitate the creation of this work. “Isolated Together” highlights aspects of my identity and life as a queer individual. After feeling isolated and out of place in various spaces because of my sexuality and gender, I was inspired to create this piece to highlight how individual identities come together to create a more unified whole. Rather than rejecting those different from you, it is crucial to accept, learn from, and value their lives and experiences. By fostering an inclusive community, authentic individuality is made possible.
