Description
This presentation will preview Vega, an open-source publishing platform that offers a range of features and workflows to create, refine, and share data, media, and text. Vega’s ability to include information in a variety of representations (text, image, sound) makes it easier for scholars to collaborate across disciplines and distinguishes it from other open access publishing tools. Vega also supports typical academic publishing processes and gives users control over editorial and peer review workflows. In addition to previewing Vega's workflow and features, the origins and business case for Vega will be discussed as well as potential business models to sustain its development upon completion of its Mellon grant.
