Description
Identifying stakeholders to grow IR participation is a challenge for all institutions. At universities, a large segment of identified stakeholders are faculty members. The same is true at the University of West Florida. And while we are working on increasing faculty participation, we decided we also wanted to include our undergraduate students.
UWF, like most universities, supports undergraduate honors and research programs whose culminating projects include presentations and/or participation in symposiums and conferences. We decided to work on including that scholarly output by reaching out to our Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR). Our hopes in doing so are to provide our undergraduate students with the opportunity to enter the cycle of scholarly communication.
This brief presentation will describe our strategy, pros and cons, and success in building a sustainable process that provides IR inclusion for 500+ undergraduate University of West Florida.
