Description
In Summer 2020 Stony Brook University Libraries announced it would migrate digital content from four legacy institutional repositories to one platform, DSpace 6. Our multi-system migration exposed the pressing need to reimagine our repositories and institute workflows for metadata remediation. Using a case study of a recent multi-department collaborative project to reprocess digitized university art exhibition catalogs, attendees will learn about challenges to legacy data remediation and implications for IR migrations. The speakers will discuss the problems and solutions that emerged, how this pilot project will inform future IR planning, and how repository stakeholders from different departments can effectively work together in a remote environment.
